Maxwell‘s latest lyric video “Fingers Crossed” (watch video below) was just released hours ago via Twitter. The track is another smooth and sultry song off of the upcoming album blackSUMMERS’night – his fifth studio album and the second body of work within the blacksummers’night trilogy. The lead single “Lake By The Ocean” is climbing the charts right now and was performed by the soul singer on the BET Awards Sunday night.

In “Fingers Crossed”, Maxwell sings “If it wasn’t meant to be, maybe your love is just a big mistake, maybe our love was just a world away” he’s singing from the heart of someone who has been disappointed by love – and Maxwell reminds us with the lyric “If you get the courage baby, someday maybe, probably maybe, you’ll be mine – all mine” that someday someone will have the courage to love you back.
blackSUMMERS’night will be released this Friday, July 1st and you can catch Maxwell at the Essence Festival in New Orleans on the same day – congratulations Maxwell.
