Tyra Banks is the new host of Americas Got Talent.

Tyra Banks is the new host of America’s Got Talent, but will also return to America’s Next Top Model.

Tyra Banks, the creator and executive producer of “America’s Next Top Model“, will be the new host of “America’s Got Talent. Former host, Nick Cannon, has been hosting AGT from 2009 to 2016 and was recently threatened by NBC executives because of a few firey jokes told during his stand-up special for Showtime, Stand Up, Don’t Shoot. Nick Cannon chose to step down and took to Facebook with a no holds bar explanation.  America’s Got Talent judge, Howie Mandel, first announced Tyra Banks as the new edition via Twitter on Sunday, March 12th. NBC has since then confirmed the new “model host”, Tyra Banks.

In the past few days, VH1 shared that Tyra Banks will also be taking back the throne of “America’s Next Top Model” from Rita Ora who was infamously taunted as the “homewrecker” of Jay-Z and Beyonce‘s loving marriage. While Rita Ora does state in various tweets that she has enjoyed her time working with ANTM and is in the process of presenting the world with her music, we can only ponder if there may have been another reason for Tyra’s return.

America’s Got Talent will be returning with its 12th season on May 30th. It will be interesting to see how Tyra does as the new host. Wouldn’t be surprised if she uses this stage as her runway, or maybe not. HA!
