Feds decide to drop weapons charges against Tekashi 6ix9ine reducing his sentence by 10-years.

Daniel Hernandez, better known as rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is getting the benefit of making a deal with federal prosecutors. Tekashi was facing a potential 47-year prison sentence, but with his support in building a case against the Nine Trey Bloods gang, his weapons charge is no more.

Federal prosecutor, Michael Longyear, and his colleagues announced they removed 10-years from the full sentence. Tekashi could do a minimum of 37-years behind bars for racketeering.

The extravagant amount of years prosecutors are looking for has a lot to do with Tekashi being on a 4-year probation ruling. Back in October 2018, he landed a class C felony involving the use of a child less than 17-years-old in a sexual performance.

Tekashi does have a chance to get an even lower sentence at the judges’ discretion. Federal prosecutors, his family, and his current girlfriend penned letters to the judge, asking for a lighter sentence. Hernandez himself wrote a message as well — at one point, writing that his co-defendant was sleeping with his child’s mother. And they stole “hundreds of thousands of dollars” from him. Hernandez ended the saying, “I’m truly sorry for the harm that I’ve caused. If given a second chance, I will not let this court down.”

Tekashi 6ix9ine faces sentencing this Wednesday, December 18th.
